Annual Burgundy Tasting
14th May 2025

Taste your way through Burgundy as you spend the afternoon drinking samples from Chablis to Meursault, Gevrey-Chambertin to Pommard. This is an exciting new addition to the La Paulee Melbourne line up and provides avid Burgundy drinkers to gain an overall perspective on the 2023 vintage in France and the best cuvees to secure for the year.

"The whites will be almost uniformly delicious whether you picked earlier (which would be my choice) or later – I cannot remember grapes coming into the wineries having such a delicious taste. Acidity is relatively low, though, so the wines will be accessible earlier. 1992 springs to mind as a comparison.

The reds look more complicated but with the potential to be lovely as well. There may be parallels with 2017 here and there will certainly be quite a range of quality between the ‘good old boy’ producers and those who really take care in the vineyards."
